Most people assume this was always the plan
When they hear that I'm rebuilding SEnuke, they often imagine I'd been quietly working on it for years.
The truth is very different.
Why I thought it was over
There was a time when I was convinced SEnuke would never return.
Not because I had stopped caring about the brand.
Not because I had lost interest in helping businesses grow.
I simply believed that chapter of my life had ended.
For years I poured everything I had into SEnuke. It became one of the best-known names in SEO software and introduced me to thousands of incredible customers around the world. I'm genuinely proud of what we built together.
But the industry kept changing.
Search changed.
Marketing changed.
Technology changed.
And eventually, I reached a point where rebuilding the old SEnuke no longer made sense.
I even listed the domain for sale.
That wasn't a marketing stunt.
It wasn't designed to create attention.
I honestly believed someone else might write the next chapter.
Seeing SEnuke.com listed for sale felt strange.
That domain represented years of work, countless late nights, amazing customers and one of the biggest milestones of my career.
But sometimes moving forward means accepting that something belongs in the past.
Or at least, that's what I thought.
Then something unexpected happened
Artificial intelligence wasn't just improving software.
It was changing what software could become.
For the first time in a long time, I found myself asking a question I hadn't considered before.
Not... “Should I rebuild SEnuke?”
But... “What if SEnuke didn't have to be rebuilt at all?”
What if it could become something entirely different?
That question stayed with me.
It kept growing.
And eventually it became impossible to ignore.
Looking back, I'm glad I was wrong.
Sometimes we become so attached to what something used to be that we fail to see what it could become.
Walking away gave me perspective.
It forced me to stop thinking about recreating old software and start thinking about solving today's problems instead.
Ironically, the moment I truly believed SEnuke was over was the moment that made its future possible.

In the next Founder Journal, I'll share what finally convinced me that rebuilding SEnuke wasn't about bringing back the past—it was about building something that simply wasn't possible before.
Because once I saw that future, there was no turning back.
